The Inventory code change utility allows you to modify the part number not only on the main record but also everywhere else it is in use, such as sales orders, purchase orders, price matrix records, requisitions and more. Once a code change is applied, it will appear as if the new part number was always used. No history of the old code is kept.
This utility is accessed from the top Inventory menu, choosing Inventory Code Change. To be able to run this utility, you need to have the User security setting for Inventory / Change Inventory Code enabled.
Apply – Posts the change to the record, transactions, history and other records the item number is referred to.
Save – Saves the selected list while in progress.
Save Close – Saves the list and also closes the window
Print – Prints report for list
Delete – Deletes the selected line
All Warehouses – When a highlighted item on the list is located in multiple warehouses, this will replicate the code change for this part number for all other warehouses.
