If you sell inventory and could potentially charge more than one different unit price for each item, you can define price levels to categorize when varying prices are used.
You can have as many different price level codes as required. Perhaps different levels are necessary depending on the customer status or associated currency.
Code – An alphanumeric code up to 20 characters, which must be unique for each price level.
Description – The name of the price level, which will be displayed on lists and in areas where the level can be selected.
Currency – Choose a foreign currency code to use this level to set a price different than an exchange rate calculation from the base currency price.
Main – If no price level code is selected on a sales order, then the Main price level with a currency that matches the customer will be used. Only one price level for each currency can be set as the Main level. It is not required to set a Main level for any currency, but it is recommended, as sales orders without an assigned level will have zero prices by default.
Foreground – The font colour of the unit price value for a sales order detail when this price level is applied. Other methods of setting text colour such as price matrix take precedence over this price level colour.
Background – The colour within the unit price cell for a sales order detail when this price level is applied. Other methods of setting cell colour such as price matrix take precedence over this price level colour.
