The active module displays the main information in the Spire program window, which in most cases is a list of records. Additionally, many modules have multiple tabs that display record lists for information related to that module.
Often while you are working, you need to be able to see multiple lists at once, such as both customers and sales orders. If you have sufficient desktop space – usually if you have multiple monitors to display more windows at once without having to stack and overlap them – you can take advantage of the feature to detach one or more module windows from the Spire program window and organize them on your desktop. To do this, simply double-click the module name at the left side, and a new window for that module will open and can be positioned as you require.
Clicking the module name will bring the detached window to focus. Note that if you detach a module window in this way, it will not be available to use in the main Spire program window until such time that the detached window is closed. You cannot see this list replicated in separate windows with this method, nor can you re-insert a detached window; you must close the detached window and then you will be able to see this module within the main Spire window.
For modules that use tabs for separate record lists, you can perform the same detach procedure by double-clicking on the tab name. A new window will open that displays the information from that tab, and the tab will be removed from the original layout.
Another feature to assist in displaying more information is the ability to detach and display the same window multiple times. After following the process above, you can re-load the module by choosing a different module at the left and then re-picking the original module, which will refresh all tabs. Now you have two separate windows with the same list information, where one is found in the Spire program window.
And you could even detach that tab again to create another separate window. Perhaps one use for this is to have separate filtered lists to refer to.
