Global Payments is a payment solution provider that integrates with Spire. At this time, the integration with Global Payments allows processing of credit card payments for ‘Card Not Present’ transactions, and ‘Card Present’ transaction processing with terminal device integration. Integration is supported from Sales orders deposits and invoices, and Accounts Receivable invoices and refunds.
Setup

Two separate integrations that support both Canada and the United States are available to configure, for either Card Present or Card Not Present use.
You must first setup the Global Payments connection to Spire, using the application ID and key provided to you from their registration process.

You must also enter a Label to identify the company name for use in integration for access management.
When you want the defined integration to be related only to a specific Location or Division in a segregated portion of company data, or only in use at a particular Warehouse or sales Till, there are optional fields to enter the data value and limit the access. Processing a payment will only be allowed when these optional values match what you have set when signing into the company data, set as defaults in User Settings or using the Change Location function.
If you are analyzing the functionality of Global Payments prior to going live, you can choose to enable a sandbox environment, to see how this integration works in Spire prior to committing your customer credit card information and processing.
Manage Companies
After setup is complete, you then can manage access for Global Payments across the company databases you use.

Under the label you defined in the Setup area, you can choose which company databases listed on this screen will have the Global Payments integration active.
Terminal Device Configuration
If you are using the Card Present method of collecting customer credit card information, you will have at least one terminal device to set up. You will be provided from Global Payments the device and some software to install on your workstation. After installing, this software needs to be configured to work with your device(s) and get information to be used in Spire setup.
Right click on the software icon in the Windows task bar and choose Device Configure:

On the Device Setup screen, select the type of payment device you are using. Also enter values for the Debit TID and Credit TID fields and select the connected COM port.

After the device is successfully connected, you can now see the device ID for use in Payment Terminal Setup in Spire, when you right-click on the task bar icon.

Payment method
In order for payments to be recognized as interfacing with Global Payments, at least one Spire Payment method with the Credit type must be configured with the “Enable” setting in the Integration section, with a Type of “Integrated (Card Not Present)” or “External Terminal (Card Present)”.

Customer Credit Cards
You likely will want to save customer credit cards for use in sales payments, instead of re-entering the full information every time. Spire will not store the credit cards directly, but instead will vault them in a secure location within the Global Payments portal, and only access information securely when needed. Customers can have one or more credit cards saved.

After saving card information, only the last 4 digits and expiry are displayed in Spire. When information about the customer changes, you can sync this with the stored customer data within the credit card processor vault.
You can edit the expiry year when a new card is available to replace an expired card, and you will need to re-enter the full credit card number in order to update the card.
Only the Global Payments connection to Spire 3.13 supports the Default card setting here. The older integration does not.
Usage in Spire
When active, and configured appropriately for use with payment methods, card not present transactions can be processed in sales processing, point of sale and accounts receivable. The billing address synched with the credit card will be matched to the sales order billing address for sales payments, or the customer billing address for accounts receivable payments, as part of the authorization procedures.
Payments can be processed through invoicing a sales order, and payment is accepted on the tender screen.

Sales order deposits also support Global Payments, and after the tender is made, the deposit acts as a deposit normally would in Spire.

You can alternatively “Authorize” a transaction for pre-authorization within sales orders, from the Credit Authorizations button. In this case, the payment is recorded, but instead of immediately charging the credit card, a pre-authorization occurs. At a later time, the company can “capture” this pre-authorization and convert the pre-authorization into a deposit on the order or a payment when invoicing.

Refunds through negative sales orders can also be processed, and indicated on the tender screen.

Refunds can also be processed by voiding a payment in Accounts Receivable, which will automatically be processed back to the same credit card without requiring re-selection.
