Companies that have used Spire for many years will have accumulated significant volumes of transactions, where many are too old to be relevant and slow down searches and reports. There may come a time when these old transactions are no longer desired and removing them from your data will improve processing. You can first create a snapshot of your company data in case you even want to refer to those older historical transactions, and you really should make a backup before doing any data purge. Then from the Tools menu, use the Purge Data selection.

You can choose from various transaction types to clear, with a definable cutoff date that defaults to six years prior to the beginning of the Last Fiscal Year, so that by default you have at least seven year of data maintained.

If you want to purge one type of transaction type as of one date, and another transaction type as of a different date, you need to run the process multiple times for different purge dates.
When you make your selections and continue, you will be reminded about making a data backup before continuing, as this is the last chance to cancel before purging.
