If the company takes several forms of payment, then the following is the procedure to balance the payments against the invoices and Point of Sales processed.
On the top Sales menu, select Cash Out Reports.
Add a new Cash Out batch for the period to be balanced and give it a name to identify the Till location. If Till codes have been defined, you can select one here.
Count the cash and enter each denomination. Then enter the Other Payment Method totals from the payment processors terminal report.
Location – Select the Location if these are defined for your company, created in Company Settings, General Ledger, Segments, Codes.
Print the “Cash Balance” report to verify that the payments balance to the invoice amounts.
If they are not balanced, print the “Cash Balance Details” report and proceed with checking off invoices until the error is found.
