Check these settings in Company Settings->Payroll before using the ‘Source Deduction Remittance’ procedure:
- Select remittance frequency
- Setup CRA vendor for paying deductions
Once all timecards are posted for the reporting period, go to the top menu Payroll -> Remit Source Deductions
A list of previous remittances will be displayed. Click on the + button to add one for the period being paid.
Be sure the date is set to the last day of the reporting period. It will automatically be determined if a previous remittance was posted.
Click on Calculate to pull the amounts for the period.
The information on this screen details what is required when paying CRA. The Due Date is calculated based on the Remitting Frequency and the period end date.
Click on the Details tab to see each employee.
Click on the Print button for the reports.
When you are ready to post the remittance, click on the ‘Post’ button.
If you want to pay the remittance now, choose “Yes” and the Accounts Payable payment screen will be presented with the vendor that is set up in Company Setting -> Payroll.
If you choose “No”, then an Accounts Payable invoice entry will be posted to the vendor, and you can open Accounts Payable and pay it later.
